On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of imposing emergency in the country, a meeting of the Union Cabinet under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was called today (on Wednesday, June 25), in which a resolution was passed against the Emergency. In this proposal, the Emergency in 1975 was termed as ‘democracy and the murder of the constitution’ and strongly condemned. A two -minute silence was also kept for paying tribute to the victims of emergency excesses in the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi. During this, all the ministers including Prime Minister Modi stood.
Giving information about the proposals passed in the cabinet meeting, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the year 2025 is the 50th anniversary of the Constitution Day. On this occasion, the Union Cabinet has passed the resolution strongly condemning the emergency in 1975. The proposal states that during the Emergency, democratic values were violated across the country and the constitutional rights of the common man were taken away.
Call to learn from youth
The Union Cabinet has called for learning from the youth of the country to senior citizens from the fighters of democracy and their sacrifice. The proposal states that the brave fighters of the Emergency opposed dictatorship trends and strongly protected our constitution and democratic sentiments. It states that as the mother of democracy, India is a tangible form of conservation, security and defense of constitutional values.
A total of three proposals passed in the cabinet
A total of three proposals have been passed in the cabinet. In another proposal, the Union Cabinet along with Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla and three others welcomed the successful launch of their Acom-4 mission to the International Space Station. Shukla and three other astronauts rode in the Dragon spacecraft on a trip to the International Space Station, which is set up in the Earth’s orbit by Falcon-9 rocket of SpaceX. The resolution passed at the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “We welcome the successful launch of the space mission with astronauts from India, Hungary, Poland and America.”
