If your fastag is lost or burst, then most importantly you first block your old Fastag. This is so that no other person can misuse your old tag.
How to block fastag?
- To block Fastag, call the customer care number of the bank or application from where you released Fastag. Such as Paytm, Airtel Payments Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank etc.
- Call the customer care and register your KYC details like mobile number, vehicle number and name and register a request that your fastag is lost and it should be blocked.
- Apart from this, some banks also offer the option of “Block Fastag” in their mobile app, they can also block it from there.
How to apply new fastag online?
Now it comes to how to ask for a new fastag. There are two easy ways-
- Through bank or fastag service provider
- Through My Fastag App
Applying new Fastag through bank or fastag service provider
If you take Fastag from the bank or app, you can order a new Fastag again from the same platform.
- For this, login on the bank’s website or app (eg Paytm, ICICI Fastag Portal, Airtel Thanks App etc.). Then click on the “Request New Fastag” or “Replace Fastag” option.
- After this, fill the details of the vehicle like RC number, car number and old fastag details. Pay (usually charge 100 to 200 rupees).
- After payment, the new Fastag will reach your registered address in a few days.
Applying new Fastag through My Fastag app
- If you want, you can also ask for a new fastag through the My Fastag app. This app has been released by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
- Download “My Fastag App” from Google Play Store or App Store. Login to the app and tap on the “Buy Fastag” option.
- From here, a new fastag can be ordered through NPCI partners banks or agents. Pay and fill the registered address.

- Scan copy of Registration Certificate (RC)
- Vehicle owner photo
- Identification proof (eg Aadhaar card, PAN card etc.)
- Cart registration number and chassis number

How many days will the new Fastag get?
Usually, 5 to 7 working days of ordering new fastag reaches your address. However, it also depends on the bank or service provider.
How to activate a new fastag?
After getting a new fastag, you have to activate it. Login to the bank’s website or app and complete the Fastag Activation Process. After this your new tag will be completely operational and you will be able to travel easily on the highway.
