Bhopal
The prestigious Hamidia College located in the capital Bhopal has been hit by a new controversy these days. Students and faculty members have questioned the atmosphere of security, discipline and studies regarding the mosque located in the college campus. After which the principal of the college, Dr. Pushpalata Chowkse, has complained to Anupam Rajan, ACS of Higher Education Department. He informed that students are disturbed during the examination due to Ajan in the mosque near the college. This problem has come to light during many competitive examinations including NEET.
Movement of outsiders during prayers in the mosque
Students studying here also allege that the movement of outsiders increases during the Namaz in the mosque, which weakens the security system of the college and at the same time important tasks like studies and examinations are interrupted in the classroom. The college principal has raised this issue in the VC of Higher Education Department.
Mike’s voices reaching the classroom from the tomb too
The college also has a tomb, which the local people are calling family members. Mike is also used here, due to which there is a problem in studies during class. The principal said that the atmosphere of studies is being affected by continuous movement and loud voice.
If the situation of college land is clear then the playground will be made
Principal Chowkse also told that if the disputed land of the tomb is confirmed by the college, it should be allowed to be converted into a sports ground. He said that it becomes challenging to maintain the safety and discipline of the campus on crowded festivals.
College cannot do anything, action is responsible for governance
The college administration has shifted the NCC wing to this side, so that the students are less affected. Principal Chowkse clearly stated that the college administration can only expose problems, the government is responsible for decisions and action.
Mosque gate opens towards college
According to the principal, a gate of the mosque opens towards the college, causing the movement of outsiders. This affects discipline and security. He has demanded the administration to clarify whether the mosque is on the college land. Dr. Chowkse says that if the land belongs to the college, it should be allowed to be developed as a sports ground.
