Today, in Mungeli district of Chhattisgarh, Anti -Corruption Bureau asked for 25 thousand, ACB caught by taking bribe

On 10 June 2025, the Anti -Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Mungeli district of Chhattisgarh arrested Patwari Uttam Kurre of Kailykala red -handed taking a bribe of Rs 25,000. This action was taken at the office in Surighat, Patwari. Uttam Kurre is accused of seeking record improvement and bribe to provide documents. This is the fourth major action of ACB in six months in Mungeli district.

Complaint on demanding bribery
On 30 May 2025, Top Singh Anuragi, a resident of Bodri Nagar Panchayat in Bilaspur district, filed a complaint at ACB unit Bilaspur. He said that in the name of him and his siblings, there is 1.43 acres of land in village Kesalikala, Mungeli. In the record, his name is recorded instead of Top Singh. The husband’s name is wrongly written in front of his sister’s name. Top Singh contacted Patwari Uttam Kurre to get this improvement and land map, measles, B-One. Uttam Kurre demanded a bribe of Rs 25,000 to get the work done. Top Singh did not want to pay bribe. He complained to ACB.

After verification of the complaint, the ACB found that the allegations were correct. After this the trap was planned. On June 10, Top Singh was sent to Patwari Uttam Kurre with a bribe amount of Rs 25,000. As soon as Patwari took bribe at his office in his Surighat, Mungeli, ACB team arrested him red handed. The bribe amount was confiscated. Action was initiated against Uttam Kurre under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988. He will be produced in court.

Crafts on corruption in Mungeli
This is the fourth action of ACB against corruption in Mungeli district. Earlier, action has also been taken against Principal owners Ram Mehar, Babu Honey Sharma, Revenue Inspector Naresh Sahu, Patwari Sushil Jaiswal and Assistant Sub -Inspector Rajaram Sahu in bribery cases. The ACB has indicated that strict action against corruption will continue.
