Mumbai
Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer, who has influenced his captaincy in the last two IPL season, says that he loves captaincy as it brings a lot of responsibility. Shreyas believes that he is able to perform best by taking over the team. Shreyas under his captaincy last year gave the title to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), while this season, Punjab Kings under his captaincy were runners -up.

Shreyas came closer and missed the trophy
Shreyas was not retained by KKR for IPL 2025 after which Punjab Kings bought him at auction. Shreyas was appointed as the captain of Punjab and under his captaincy the team performed brilliantly this season. The Punjab Kings team topped the group stage, but in the final they lost by six runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Shreyas said- I have been captaining since the age of 22
Iyer said after taking Sobo Mumbai Falkans to the T20 Mumbai League semi -finals, the captaincy brings a lot of maturity and responsibility. You are always expected to perform well and you want to make the best contribution to the team. The team comes to the captain in any kind of odd situation or adversity. I have been captaining since the age of 22. I enjoy it.
Iyer said that he takes the pressure situation as a challenge and tries to perform his best. He said, I try to go to my zone. I try to be full focus, stay in the present and perform the situation. I keep telling myself that I want my name to be on the audience’s tongue and it inspires me.

Shreyas is happy to play in Mumbai T20 league
Iyer said that it looks good to play with well -known faces in this tournament who was with him in the journey of his childhood days. He said, there are many known faces in the dressing room. I have played with him in club cricket, school and college. Then it looks good by playing with them here.
