After the 4 -storey building was bombed in Indore, now ‘bribery’ explosion

Indore
After the 4 -storey building was bombed in Indore, there is now a blast of ‘bribery’. After the action taken by the Municipal Corporation four days ago, now the owner of the building claimed that a bribe of Rs 5 lakh had been taken from them for the construction of the building and a demand of Rs 15 lakh was again demanded. On this refusal, gunpowder was blown. The mayor has spoken about an inquiry into the entire case and strict action against the culprits.

Indore Municipal Corporation first broke the four-storey building built within a range of 9 meters from the drain in Plan No. 54, PU-4, and then blew up with a bomb. Now the owner of the building, Dr. Ijhar Munshi said that he wanted to open a hospital in this building. He also passed the map. But it has been dropped due to not fulfilling bribery demand.

Dr. Ijhar Munshi was appointed as Medical Officer in the Health Department. He retired on 31 May 2025. Dr. Munshi told Live Hindustan that he wanted to open a hospital in this building. He has a total of 19 doctors in his family. Dr. Munshi, who is going to file a petition in the High Court, said that on 22 November 2020, he had passed the building map. The building officer first took a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from him and now started asking for 15 lakhs. He said that after starting the work, a drainage line was seen there. Immediately contacted the officer, he asked to leave the drainage line and start work. The officials later reached the spot and said that the construction of the building was being done opposite to the map.

The corporation commissioner has transferred the building officer and building inspector posted in the area of the zonal office. Rajesh Udawat, a member of the Mayor Parishad and in -charge of the Building Husbandry Branch, has written a letter to the Urban Administration Minister of the state, Kailash Vijayvargiya, saying that the engineer Asit Khare, who had wrongly approved the map of this building, has now been posted on this zonal office. As a building officer, he passed the wrong map. He has demanded action against Khare and Consultant Engineer. Leader of Opposition in the corporation Chintu Chowkse has raised his voice in this case to suspend the building officer and building inspector of this zonal office and conducts departmental inquiry against them. He says that it is not an action to move engineers out of the zonal office to another place, but an attempt to divert attention from the mess of the whole matter.

Mayor of Indore Pushyamitra Bhargava said, ‘There are many questions in the way that house has been broken. Action will be taken against those who are guilty in this. I have asked the landlord to complain in writing. They will check the facts they have. The circumstances in which the house is broken, the way a house is to be broken by following the rules, it is not visible at first sight. How did he build a house, if the BO, BI works on time, then such a big building would not have been built. Someone took the plot of the IDA, had passed the map. If something was made contrary to the map, it was to break as much. ‘
