After one and a half years, a bulldozer has been run on the illegal settlement of the buffer zone area of ​​the Udanti Sita river sanctuary. This time, action has been taken on the illegal settlement in the forest adjacent to Ghumrapadar village of Indagaon range. More than 100 forests and police staff along with Deputy Director Varun Jain were busy removing encroachments.

Deputy Director Varun Jain said that the 6th illegal settlement settled in the sanctuary was destroyed. A case has been registered against 29 illegal occupiers. In the last 10 years, these people had illegally harvested thousands of trees and captured 60 hectares of forest land. He was given notice several times to leave. These people were taking maize and paddy crop on forest land while staying here. The action of eviction has been taken after the notice period is over.

700 hectares of forest land has been vacated so far
Deputy Director Varun Jain said that in the last one and a half years, more than 5 illegal settlements have been evicted and 700 hectares of forest land has been evacuated. In addition to plantation in the vacant land, contour trench has been constructed for water and land conservation. Since eviction, there has been a decrease in hunting of wildlife in the sanctuary area. Apart from this, there has been an increase in the clan of creatures due to the creation of a favorable environment for wildlife.
