The first qualifier of IPL 2025 is being played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur on Thursday. The Punjab Kings team, batting first, could only score 101 runs losing all wickets in 14.1 overs. Marcus Stanis scored 26 runs for Punjab. Seven batsmen of the team could not even touch the double figure.
The Punjab Kings team got the first blow in the second over to bat. Opener Priyansh Arya was dismissed by seven runs off 5 balls. Yash Dayal got him caught out by Krunal Pandya. Prabhasimran Singh was dismissed for 18 runs in 10 balls. Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed him. Josh Hazlewood showed Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer the way to the pavilion. Shreyas scored two runs in three balls. Josh English could only score 4 runs in 7 balls. Nehal Vadhera was dismissed by Yash Dayal. He scored 8 runs in 10 balls. Mushir Khan could not open an account, he was lbw by Suyash. Suyash achieved the third success by dismissing Marcus Stanis. Harpreet scored 4 runs in 11 balls.
Punjab Kings team piled up on 101
The Punjab Kings team could score 101 runs in the first qualifier by losing all wickets in 14.1 overs. Josh Hazlewood and Suyash Sharma took 3-3 wickets.
