Bhopal /Indore
The process of destroying the toxic waste of union carbide responsible for the world’s largest industrial tragedy in Bhopal continues. The waste at Ramki plant in Pithampur is being disposed of according to the guidelines of the Pollution Control Board. Its report is being given continuously to the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The big thing is that the possibility of spreading dangerous pollution about this poisonous waste has become negligible. It is claimed that the pollution control board has described pollution from poisonous waste as normal.
Poisonous waste is finished in a month
Indore Division Commissioner Deepak Singh says, “Union Carbide is being burnt under the supervision of waste experts, which will be completely destroyed in the next 30 to 35 days. Its execution process is being fully monitored. The report of each phase of the waste execution is presented before the High Court. Currently the level of pollution is also common in the areas around Pithampur. In addition to dioxide, nitrogen oxide, naphthalene and particulate matter were found.
Panic period from Bhopal to Indore
In fact, on the morning of 3 December 1984, there was more than 5000 deaths due to methyl isocynide gas, which came out of union curbide in Bhopal. Due to the ill effects of this poisonous gas, 15000 people died of different diseases in about one and a half decades. Since then it was present in the garbage premises as a residue of this gas in Union Carbide. For many consecutive years, this waste was being described as fatal and pollution like gas. 40 years after the Bhopal gas scandal, it was agreed to destroy the waste by burning the waste at the Ramki Enviro plant set up in Pithampur Industrial Area near Indore.
Process of burning poisonous waste continues in Pithampur
After this, after filling this waste in 12 containers on January 2, a special type of green corridor was prepared and brought to Pithampur 230 km away.
