However, in the midst of increasing cases of digital fraud, if you contact the person who has been mistakenly paid in the account, do not answer you properly. In such a situation, you have to follow the process mentioned further.
Contact the concerned bank immediately
You should contact your bank immediately after making UPI payment in wrong account. You can contact the customer care or branch. The bank will take the payment details from you and start an investigation process. In this process, the bank contacts the bank in which the money has gone. If the receiver would not have spent the money, the bank can reverse it with your help. Keep in mind that it is necessary to contact the bank within 48 hours of wrong payment. In case of non -contact with the bank, a complaint can also be lodged by calling 18001201740.
Complain with customer support of UPI app
Whatever UPI app such as Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM etc., you have to go to your own “Help” or “Support” section and talk to the customer care. There you can complain about your wrong payment. After this, the team of the app meets your bank and receiver bank and examines the case. If the mistake is proved and the receiver agreed to give back the money, then the refund can be found. This process may take a few days, but in many cases help soon.
