Successful organizing of Mega Sky Watching Program in Korea

Raipur
On the evening of Saturday 10 May, a wonderful scene was seen at the Mini Stadium of Government Adarsh Ramanuja Higher Secondary School in Baikunthpur in Korea district, where the glow of curiosity towards science and astronomy was clearly visible in the eyes of children. The Mega Sky Watching program organized with the participation of more than 500 students of the district proved to be an important step towards spreading science education to the people.

The special thing about this event was that the students not only heard scientific facts, but also experienced them directly. The direct observation of the Moon, Mars and Jupiter with the help of a telescope was nothing short of an exciting journey for students. The performance of cosmic events through the LED screen was also very attractive and educational.

The program was organized under the joint aegis of District Administration Korea, Junior Red Cross Society and Breakthrough Science Society Korea. Its purpose was to develop a scientific approach among the students, encourage logical thinking and to generate interest in subjects like astronomy.

The chief guest of the program was District Collector Smt. Chandan Tripathi, with District Superintendent of Police Shri Ravi Kurre and District Panchayat Vice President Mrs. Vandana Rajwade were also present. These officials praised the curiosity and participation of the children, saying that such events strengthen scientific consciousness and thinking in the new generation.

Scientific representatives involved in the program, Mr. Deda Pavan Kuila, Mr. Vijay Kumar, Ms. Pooja Sharma and Mr. Kamal Dadasena put the interesting facts related to the universe in simple language. Telescope experts Jeevan Sahu and Neeraj Kumar gave technical lectures as well as practical information about equipment. The presence of District Education Officer Shri Jitendra Gupta led to more powerful participation of the education world.

The program was also involved in the program along with students of government and non -government schools of the district along with heads, teachers and parents. In this event, which started at 5 pm, people of all age groups enjoyed this unique journey of astronomy.

This special initiative not only connected the students to the galaxy and the solar system, but also brought a new energy and curiosity towards science within them. This program proved to be a milestone towards bringing a scientific approach to the students’ thinking.

The origin of the program was not only understood by science for humanity, science for society, science in thinking, but it was also lived. The district administration also paid off the appeal to all educational institutions to ensure the participation of maximum students, so that science came out as a living subject, not a complex subject.

This event proved that if the students get the right platform and opportunity, then they can reach the heights of the sky in the world of science.
