A sudden fire broke out at the conch gate of the world famous Baba Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain on Sunday, whose flames and smoke were seen from about one kilometer away. As soon as the fire was reported, three fire engines reached the spot and the fire was controlled. According to the information, the fire was on the battery in the control room of the temple premises. No casualties were reported in the incident.
Soon after the incident, senior officials of Mahakal Temple Committee reached the spot and took stock of the situation. The entry of devotees in the temple was stopped after the fire. There was a lot of crowd in the temple at the time when the incident took place on Monday in the Mahakal temple. The temple was more crowded due to Monday. It is a matter of honor that no casualties were reported in this fire incident. As soon as the incident came to know about the incident, Collector Roshan Singh, Mahakal Temple Administrator First Kaushik, Ujjain SP Pradeep Sharma, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ashish Pathak and officials reached the spot.

According to Mahakal Temple Administrator First Kaushik, the accident took place on the roof of the control room of Avantika Gate located on gate number-1 of the temple. The roof has a pollution control board’s air quality management system. The battery of this system was on fire for some reason. The batteries of the Air Quality Management System of the Pollution Control Board were burnt in the accident. Fire brigade reached the spot as soon as the information was received. Shortly after, the fire was controlled. At present, the cause of the battery fire is not clear. Will be able to know only after investigation. The entry of devotees in the temple was stopped after the incident. The temple gate has been reopened after overcoming the fire and the situation becomes normal.
