ISKCON priest Chinmay Krishna Das has got bail after 6 months. He was in jail in Bangladesh. Chinmay Das was arrested in November last year on charges of treason. After several unsuccessful efforts to get bail in the Chittagong Court, Chinmay Das’s lawyer finally provided bail in the Bangladesh High Court in Dhaka in today’s hearing.
Please tell that after the end of Sheikh Hasina’s rule, Chinmay Das emerged as a major voice for minorities, especially Hindus in Bangladesh. After this, he was arrested on 25 November by the detective branch of Dhaka Police on charges of treason. After his arrest, he filed a bail petition in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate in Chittagong on 26 November, which was rejected by the court. He was in jail since then.
