Chief Minister reviewed the works of Urban Administration Department

The Chief Minister gave instructions to implement the Atal Vishwas letter prominently, the cleanliness ranking of all cities should be improved

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today reviewed the works of Urban Administration and Development Department. He reviewed the progress of the major works being done by the department in a meeting held in the ministry. He also discussed the priorities of the current financial year and also inquired about the implementation of the plans of the Central and State Governments run by the department. Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration Minister Arun Saw and Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain also attended the review meeting.

In the meeting, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai instructed the officials to make an action plan to ensure water system according to the needs of ten years to come in the cities and work on them. He asked to make gardens on priority in new residential areas developing in the outer of cities, so that children can be able to play and get to the elders, with walking, jogging, yoga and physical exercise as well as fun. The Chief Minister directed to implement the Atal Vishwas letter prominently in all the urban bodies. He asked to improve his current ranking of cleanliness issued by the Government of India, fixing the system of cleanliness in all cities. Along with increasing public participation to make cities beautiful and clean, he asked to send commissioners of municipal corporations to study in cities like Indore.

While reviewing the works of the Urban Administration Department, Chief Minister Sai asked other departments to coordinate with urban population and develop basic urban facilities. This will help in developing arrangements and public facilities according to the cities if they join the urban body of the nearby rural areas in the near future or come into existence as a new urban body. The Chief Minister suggested to create a reward-system for the bodies completing the work within the stipulated time, emphasizing on completing the work within the time-limit with quality in construction works. He asked to create an app or online system for effective monitoring of the progress of construction and development works.

The Chief Minister, like the Raipur Municipal Corporation, insisted on developing online systems for recovery of property tax in other urban bodies. With this, people will be able to sit at home or deposit property tax from mobile or computer from their workplace, which will increase revenue collection. In the next one year, he instructed to prepare a system of depositing online property tax in all bodies. The Chief Minister asked to link the system of making house access documents under the Mor Sangwari scheme to the Digi-Locker of the Central Government. With this, the documents of the citizens will be permanently safe in their Digi-Locker. This will also reduce the expenditure of planning operations.

Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration Minister Arun Saw told in the meeting that good results of inspection of cleanliness and development work are coming with the officers of the municipal corporations and the Chief Municipal Officers of the Municipality and the Chief Municipal Officers of the Nagar Panchayats. Due to this, along with tightness in the functions of the department, regular monitoring of progress and cleanliness of construction works is being done. According to the current needs in all urban bodies, action is being taken to revise the set-up and classification of bodies. According to major development works, needs of cities and future needs, Chief Minister Nagarothan Yojana is being launched this year to give impetus to urban development. A provision of Rs 500 crore has been kept for this.

In the meeting, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai reviewed the progress of the under -construction items in the urban bodies, the progress of the work under the 15th Finance Commission and the State Flined Schemes and the works of Suda (State Urban Development Agency). He also reviewed the progress of the Atal campuses and Nalanda campuses being constructed in various bodies along with Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), PM Self -Mission, Amrit Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban). Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Subodh Singh, Chief Minister’s Secretary P. Dayanand, Rahul Bhagat, Dr. Basavraju S., Director R.K. Ekka, Deputy Secretary Dr. Renuka Srivastava and Suda CEO Shashank Pandey were also present in the review meeting.
