Seven professors (7 professors) and (&) of Guru Ghasidas Central University of Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh have been accused of hurting religious sentiments (on) (on). He is accused of forcing 159 students to offer prayers on Eid during the National Service Scheme (NSS) camp. The police have registered a case (FIR) after complaints from some students of the university.
Complainants say that on 31 March, during a week’s NSS camp in Shivatrai village, he was offered prayers without their consent. The police have registered a case against the accused and started investigation. According to him, the NSS camp ran from 26 March to 1 April. The students allege that they were offered prayers in the camp without asking them.
Namaz by saying yoga
An official of the Kota police station said that many activities like yoga are conducted to the students in the camp. There was Eid that day, so some Muslim students were offering prayers in the school ground. It is alleged that other students were also asked to offer Namaz with them. The official said that the problem was that the professors did not take the consent of those students.
Case registered against seven people
Complaint students along with some right -wing group members reached the police. The police have registered a case against seven professors, including the NSS coordinator and a student who was the chief leader of the team. Sumit Kumar, in -charge of Kota police station, said that the FIR was registered by the Koni police and later it was transferred to the Kota police station as the incident took place here. We have started investigation.
Professor says
Professors and students have been booked under Section 196 (B), 197 (1) (B) (C), 299, 302, and 190 of the Indian Code. The university professor and in -charge of the media cell MN Tripathi said that he has not yet received a copy of the FIR. We will be able to comment only after the police is officially informed.
