With the exhibition of agricultural implements, respect for farmers’ innovation and resolve to promote the production production, a two -day district level Milllets Food Festival cum Krishi Mela was inaugurated in Sagar. State Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput inaugurated the fair and interacted with the farmers. MPs Mrs. Lata Wankhede, MLA Shailendra Jain, District Panchayat Vice President Devendra Singh and public representatives attended the program.
Food Minister Rajput said that so far farmers have been paid Rs 118 crore for the grains procured on the support price. The remaining payment process is also continuing rapidly. The minister himself sat on these instruments in the exhibition and appealed to the farmers to adopt these techniques. Minister Rajput said that our ancestors lived a healthy and longevity life by consuming coarse grains. He urged farmers to increase the production and consumption of coarse grains.
Innovative farmers honored
Minister Rajput, giving the example of innovative farmers Akash Chaurasia and Anand Jain in Sagar district, appealed to the farmers to observe their form house and learn the techniques of modern and natural farming. On this occasion, many advanced farmers were honored by offering certificates, shawls and quince. The Millets Food Festival and Agricultural Fair held in Sagar district gave a message that the government is not only making policies for the prosperity of farmers, but is also trying to implement them at the ground level. Initiatives like natural farming, millets production and solar energy will further strengthen the economic status of farmers in the future.

Sagar Parliamentary constituency MP Smt. Lata Wankhede also advised farmers to promote millet production and become self -sufficient by adopting new techniques. He said that the year 2023 was declared ‘International Millets Year’ by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under which awareness campaigns are being carried out across the country.
Adopt natural farming and solar energy: Shailendra Jain
MLA Shailendra Jain suggested to the farmers that they should use chemical medicines at least and produce more and more medicinal crops. He also emphasized the use of solar energy. The MLA said that solar energy will not only facilitate irrigation, but will also save the cost of electricity, which can double the income of farmers.

A special exhibition of agricultural implements and techniques was organized at the fair. In this, farmers got information about the latest means including superserories, HappySiders, drip irrigation system, organic manure manufacturing technology.
