Tourism industry a big shock
The hotel industry has suffered a major setback after the Pahalgam terror attack. Nasir Shah of the Indian Association of Tour Operators said that since Tuesday night, tourists have been canceling the advance booking of hotels. Hotels and tour operators have got an influx of phone calls canceling. He said that such a situation will suffer a lot in the summer season. He said that one night fare in Khyber, Gulmarg is between Rs 70,000 and One Night Stay in Srinagar’s Five Star Property is between Rs 30,000 and Rs 50,000. Hotel operators are suffering direct loss due to cancellation. The sudden return of tourists has also increased the tension of the hotel industry.
Booking is constantly being canceled
Aijaz Ali, a travel operator from Srinagar, said that we know that tourists are safe in Kashmir, but after such an incident here, they cannot be expected to live here. Continuous booking is being canceled, about 80 percent of the booking has been canceled. He said that packages up to the next one month are being canceled. Ali said that the hard work of years was destroyed. Tourists will have to do a lot to bring Kashmir again.
