India donated 4.8 tonnes of vaccines to Afghanistan, Kabul expressed gratitude


India donated 4.8 tonnes of vaccines to Afghanistan. These vaccines include vaccines to fight rabies, tetanus, hepatitis B and influenza. The Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan on Wednesday thanked India for this help. The ministry’s statement said, “The Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan has received a significant vacation of vaccines from India to help in handling rabies, tetanus, hepatitis B and influenza.”

It said, “The leadership of the Ministry of Public Health thanked India for liberal support and described it as an important step, which can save thousands of people across the country.” The ministry further stated that donations of vaccines will help Afghanistan, where access to necessary medical supply due to prolonged instability and economic challenges remains limited.

In January, Foreign Secretary Vikram Egypt had a meeting with Afghanistan’s acting Foreign Minister Mawalvi Aamir Khan Muttki in Dubai. During this time, India pledged to continue human assistance to the Islamic nation, including physical assistance in the health sector and assistance for rehabilitation of refugees.

India’s Historical Friendship-abroad (MEA) with Afghan people

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the Foreign Secretary underlined India’s historical friendship with the Afghan people and the contact between the two countries between the two countries. He apprised India’s readiness to immediately meet the development needs of Afghan people.

The Afghan Minister appreciated and thanked the Indian leadership for maintaining contact with the people of Afghanistan during the meeting and thanked them. The statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs earlier this year said, “Given the current need for development activities, it was decided that India would consider joining development projects in the near future, in addition to the ongoing humanitarian aid program.”

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, by January, India rapidly meeting the needs of Afghan people, in the last few years, 50,000 metric tonnes of wheat, 300 tons of medicines, 27 tonnes of earthquake relief aid, 40,000 liters of pesticides, 100 million polio doses, 1.5 million covid vaccine doses, drug deedge programs including 11,000 units, cleanliness kits and 1.2 tannastropic kits, including 11,000 units, 500 units, 500 units, and 1.2 tannastropic kits including many Send consignments.
