The team has included former Mumbai Indians wistfotak batsman Dewald Brevis in its squad in the middle season. After Rituraj Gaikwad was injured, the team was missing an explosive batsman in the middle order. After the arrival of Brevis, CSK will find a batsman in the middle order who is able to score fast. Chennai has included this South African player in Rs 2.2 crore.
The IPL 2025 season for 5 -time champion Chennai Super Kings has been disappointing so far. The team has lost 5 out of 7 played and won only in 2. Due to this poor performance, the team is at the bottom 10th position in the IPL 2025 points table. After Rituraj Gaikwad’s injury, the team also changed the captain in the middle season, but under the leadership of Dhoni, there has not been much improvement in the team’s performance. CSK had a slot of a foreign player, due to which CSK has signed the Indian player in the middle season. According to the IPL media Advichri, “Chennai Super Kings have replaced the injured Brevis in place of injured Gurjapneet Singh. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have included the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 in the remaining matches of South Africa in place of the injured Gurjapneet Singh.”
Dewald Bravis has played 81 T20 and scored 1787 runs with a high of 162. He made his T20I debut for South Africa in 2023 and has played 2 T20I till now. Brevis was the first part of the Mumbai Indians (Mi), where he played 10 matches. He will join CSK for INR 2.2 crore. Dewald Brevis had earlier posted an image of Yellow color on his social media and hinted the fans to join CSK. Seeing his post, fans had already started congratulating him.
Chennai Super Kings are looking for an explosive batsman in the middle order after Rituraj Gaikwad is out. The team is constantly giving Rahul Tripathi a chance, but this Indian player is constantly disappointing CSK.
