Fire Center cum Residential Complex in Nawa Raipur inaugurated
Relief work from state -of -the -art fire fighting vehicles will get speed

The Chhattisgarh government is constantly making committed efforts to make the state’s civil security system stronger. Concrete steps are being taken towards modernization of resources, technically upgrading fire services and prioritizing the training and morale of the soldiers. In this episode, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai flagged off 18 new fire vehicles in a program organized at the Nagar Army Central Training Institute campus located in Mana Camp in the capital Raipur today. On this occasion, he also inaugurated the newly constructed fire fighting center cum residential complex in Sector-13, Nawa Raipur and the new fighter office. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma and many public representatives and senior administrative officers were present in the program.
Big step towards strengthening emergency services
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that these state -of -the -art fire fighting vehicles will give new pace to the capacity of quick emergency services of the state. He called it an important initiative towards ensuring the safety of citizens. The Chief Minister said that the firefighting system will be strengthened through inaugurated buildings and the efficiency of our soldiers will also increase. He also clarified that these new vehicles would be able to control the incidents of arson more effectively and rapidly, which would ensure protecting life and property. He said that protecting life is the biggest task and firefighters who play it with full devotion and promptness are our true heroes, whose services are always seen by society with respect.
Emergency service demo and state -of -the -art equipment exhibition
During the program, the State Disaster Response Force and Fire Relief Team also performed emergency service based on the incident of arson (Demo). Chief Minister Shri Sai looked at the entire rescue operation with keen interest and seriously and praised the readiness and awareness of the soldiers. He also observed the exhibition of state -of -the -art equipment used in fire services. Departmental officials informed them about the functioning and utility of equipment such as Lucas Jack, Glass Breaker, Air Lifting Bag, Pelican Tower Light, Diamond Tip, Chain Saw, Fire Jail Blackta, Fire Suit and Under Water Camera.
Constant empowerment of firefighting services
Deputy Inspector General of Police Ajat Shatru Bahadur Singh said that in the year 2017, fire service was transferred from the urban body. Currently an average of 8,000 fire calls are received per year, while in summer this number reaches 40 per day. He said that a total of 161 fire vehicles have now become available with the department with the 18 new fire fighting vehicles which have been included today. These vehicles have been handed over to districts like Raigad, Korba, Kabirdham, Dantewada, Dhamtari, Korea and Ambikapur today. He also informed that a fire station cum residential complex has been constructed by NRDA at Nawa Raipur at a cost of Rs 5.5 crore for fire fighting and emergency services, which was released today.
Fire Safety Week dedicated to martyred firefighters
Ajat Shatru Bahadur Singh said that the martyr’s day is celebrated every year on April 14 in memory of the brave sacrifices who sacrificed their duties in fire services and fire security week is organized across the country from 14 to 20 April. In this sequence, Fire Safety Week is also being organized in Chhattisgarh this year.
MLA Motilal Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary Home Manoj Kumar Pingua, Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam and Chief Minister’s Secretary Rahul Bhagat and other officers and public representatives were present in the program.
