State Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma on Saturday held wide discussion about the construction of Maoism -free Bastar with sarpanches, district members and district panchayat representatives of Naxal -affected sensitive areas during his one -day Sukma stay on Saturday.

At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Sharma got acquainted with all panchayat representatives and inquired about the geographical location and availability of basic facilities of their areas. He said that Bastar has immense potential for development and the children here are very talented. The process of development is interrupted due to Maoism, which everyone has to work together to eliminate.

Calling the Panchayat representatives, Deputy Chief Minister Sharma said that those who want to leave the path of Maoism and come to the mainstream of the society, their rehabilitation will be ensured by the state government. The surrendered Naxalites will be given assistance of Rs 50 thousand immediately and they will be included in residential skill training of 4-5 months, in which the facility of living and eating will also be given financial assistance of Rs 10,000.

He informed that as soon as the Maoist -free panchayat is declared, a development fund of Rs 1 crore will be approved to the concerned Gram Panchayat. District and district panchayat members will also be given funds for separate development works. Also, the respective villages will be linked to bus service, mobile network and electricity connectivity.

He urged the panchayat officials to make them aware for the registration of more and more eligible beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Plus Yojana. He said that the intention of the government is clear – understanding the mind of the public and freeing Bastar completely from Maoism.

Deputy Chief Minister Sharma said that under the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, we will soon make the dream of Maoism -free Chhattisgarh.

On this occasion, members of the Women’s Commission Sudeepika Sori, IG Sundararaj P., DIG Kamlochan Kashyap, Collector Devesh Kumar Dhruv, SP Kiran Chavan, Public representatives Dhaniram Barse, District Panchayat President and Members, District President, Vice President, Sarpanch and other officials were present.
