NIA interrogation of Tahwwur Rana for about eight to ten hours per day

New Delhi

The main conspirators of the Mumbai terror attacks, Tawwur Hussain Rana, are interrogating the National Investigation Agency (NIA), eight to ten hours daily so that the large conspiracy behind the attack can be detected. Rana was extradited from America last week to India.

Official sources said on Monday that NIA officials are ensuring Rana’s medical examination and he is also being allowed to meet his lawyer. A Delhi court handed over the investigating agency into custody for 18 days after he was extradited from the US on Friday morning.

Every day NIA is interrogating 8-10 hours
Sources said that Rana is being questioned by NIA investigators for about eight to ten hours per day, so that the major conspiracy behind the cowardly attacks carried out by Lashkar-e-Taiba in 2008 can be detected. The attack killed 166 people and more than 238 people were injured.

A source said, Rana is collaborating during interrogation. He said that a team of NIA officials led by Chief Investigating Officer Jaya Roy is constantly questioning him. Sources said that Rana has asked for only three things so far – a pen, paper sheet or notepad and Quran. Which has been provided by the NIA.

24 -hour security personnel deployed under surveillance
Sources said that Rana has not yet made any special demand related to food and the same food is being given according to the standard protocols made, which is given to another accused. Sources said Rana, who plotted the dreaded terrorist attack, is placed in a high-security cell inside the agency headquarters in the CGO Complex and the security personnel are stationed in his protection round the clock.
