Bangladesh court issued arrest warrant to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Rehana and children in corruption case

Dhaka
A Bangladesh court on Sunday issued an arrest warrant in the case of alleged illegal land acquisition by misusing political power against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, British MP Tulip Rizwana Siddiq and 50 others. According to the news of the Dhaka newspaper, Senior Special Judge Zakir Hussain of Dhaka Metropolitan passed the order after taking cognizance of three separate chargesheets filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The newspaper quoted AMINul Islam, Assistant Director (Prosecution) of ACC, said that Judge Hussain has fixed April 27 to review the implementation report related to the arrest warrant. Citing the court sources, Bengali newspaper Prothom Aloe reported that the ACC has recently filed a charge sheet in the court against 53 people, including Hasina in three separate cases of corruption in the allocation of plot and all are absconding.

After this decision of the court, the opponents of Sheikh Hasina have got another chance. The court has also issued a warrant against Sheikh Hasina’s daughter Saima Vajed Putul and 16 others in the Rajuk plot allocation case. Let us know that on January 13, the Deputy Director of ACC had misused the authority against Sheikh Hehana and filed a case of getting a 10 katta plot in Purvanchal New Town Project. Later, the names of two other people were also added to it.

At the same time, there was a political upheaval in Bangladesh last year and after violent demonstrations, Sheikh Hasina’s government collapsed. She escaped to India and is currently in the shelter of India. In Bangladesh, the army made Mohammad Yunus the chief advisor of the interim government. The interim government has also talked about handing over Bharat Sechikh Hasina. At the same time, cases have been registered against Sheikh Hasina in separate cases in Bangladesh. Hindus were also targeted in Bangladesh after Sheikh Hasina’s withdrawal. The interim government of Bangladesh wants Sheikh Hasina to be brought from India in some way so that she does not get a chance to enter politics again.
