2 SECL officials died due to drowning in Amrit Dhara waterfall in MCB district

MCB (Manendragadh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur Sonhat), two SECL employees, who came for a picnic in the Amritdhara waterfall located in village Lai in the district, died due to drowning on Tuesday evening. According to the information, a total of eight people, including an employee working in the Haldibari underground coal mine of SECL Hasahdev area, came to celebrate Amritdhara Falls Picnic.

The incident is from Nagpur outpost area of ​​Podi police station area. According to the information, the dead have been identified as Shahdol, resident of Shubham Malar and Telangana, resident of Prithvi Setty. Both were posted as the under manager of SECL. Police has sent the bodies to Manendragarh Community Health Center for postmortem.

In fact, 8 people, including officers posted in SECL Chirmiri, went to Amritdhara Waterfall to celebrate on Tuesday. They were bathing in the Hasdev River under the waterfall at around 4 pm. During this time, 3 employees went into deep water and started drowning. An employee managed to get out somehow.

Dead body taken out after two hours of hard work

On receiving information about the incident, the team of the outpost in -charge Shesh Narayan Singh and the SECL rescue team reached the spot. Shubham Malar and Prithvi Setty were rescued and taken out. By then both had died.

The area is declared as a restricted area

Let me tell you that bathing down in Amritdhara waterfall is prohibited. The administration has declared some areas of Amritdhara waterfall as banned due to accidents. Caution boards have also been installed here but regular monitoring is not done. In such a situation, the people who come here arbitrarily take a bath in the water.
