The court has now taken a big decision on the disturbances in paddy procurement in the district 20 years ago, in which a total of 17 convicts have been sentenced to imprisonment and fined. The case also includes the brothers and uncle of Ramanujganj Municipality President Raman Aggarwal and uncle.
It is said that it is late, but not dark. Something similar happened in the paddy procurement scam in Kameshwarpur and Ramchandrapur cooperative society in the year 2003-04. The court has ruled against 17 people who made a disturbance in paddy purchase. The farmers had sold paddy, and the money went into the account of the culprits. Actually, paddy was purchased on paper itself.
The accused were sentenced to three-three years to the court and a fine of Rs 500-500. On the orders of the Collector, an FIR was lodged on the basis of the investigation report of the officials of the Food Department. The court also sentenced the court in 2018, but the accused appealed to the upper court. Rejecting the appeal, the Ramanujganj District Court has sentenced the accused.
