Rinki Yadav, a resident of village Tatidand under Kansabel development block of Jashpur district, has become an example of success today. He has inspired other women of the village to become self -sufficient by making beautiful baskets made of traditional Chhind bronze.
Rinki Yadav has been associated with the Rakhi self-help group operated under the ambitious ‘Bihan’ scheme of the state government for the last 6 years. In the year 2019, he made it a medium of economic empowerment by extending the work of traditional basket construction only from domestic use. After joining the group, he got an opportunity to make this work a commercial form. Today, his annual income has reached about one lakh rupees through the group.
In addition, they are earning additional income of 20 to 30 thousand rupees by making springs of Chhind bronze even at the individual level. This income is playing an important role in maintaining his family’s maintenance, children’s education and domestic needs. The result of their hard work and dedication is that now they are also building a pucca house of their dreams, whose construction work is going on fast. Rinki Yadav has thanked the Chhattisgarh government and especially Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai for this success.
Rinki Yadav says that after joining the self-help group, he came to know about the schemes, training and opportunities of the government. This not only brought confidence in his life but also increased participation at the social level. After joining the Bihan scheme, the direction of my life changed. Today I feel self -sufficient and I am also seeing the dream of giving a better future to my children. The schemes of the government have given me encouragement and respect.
