Out of 23,118 properties of Waqf in Madhya Pradesh, 14,986 investigation, records will be recorded online after verification

The Madhya Pradesh government has started investigating Waqf properties after passing the Waqf Amendment Bill. The Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board has a total of 23,118 properties, out of which 14,986 properties will be examined. This includes residential, commercial and other types of prized assets, whose total price is being estimated in trillions. After verifying these properties, all records will be recorded online.

The verification process will be done with the help of Revenue Department and has started in the capital Bhopal. According to Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, Waqf properties are being surveyed in Bhopal district, which will be uploaded on the online portal. The investigation of 777 Waqf properties located in 81 villages of Bhopal district has been completed, including plots, houses and other types of properties.

The survey has been conducted by the patwaris of the area, which also recorded a record of renting and possession. Verification of these properties is being made mandatory under the revised Waqf Act. The record of Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board states that the state has a total of 23,118 Waqf properties, including houses, shops and public and commercial buildings. The Waqf Board manages these properties and it is also the responsibility of depositing the income from it.

If the Waqf Board claims any property under the revised Waqf Act, it will be compulsorily verified. Apart from this, the properties with which disputes are going on between the Waqf Board and the common people will also be verified. Investigation of Waqf properties in Madhya Pradesh has been started before the amended Waqf Act of the Central Government is implemented. The verification of 777 properties located in 81 villages of Bhopal has been completed, and a total of 14,986 properties are to be investigated in the state.
