A big news has come out of the Naxal Front amid Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Bastar (Bastar). 86 Naxalites have surrendered in the Bhadradri Kothagudem district of Telangana. Most of them are residents of Chhattisgarh.
According to the information, Naxalites reached Hemachandrapuram Police Headquarters of Kothagudem and surrendered to Multi Zone-1 IG Chandrashekhar Reddy. Those surrenders include 66 men and 20 women. All these Maoists have been involved in serious incidents like IED blasts, firing, murder and recovery from contractors for a long time.
IG Chandrashekhar Reddy said that all of them have surrendered under ‘Operation Cheyutha’ run by the Telangana government. The government has also provided assistance of 25 thousand rupees immediately under the rehabilitation scheme to the Naxalites surrendering.
It is being told that this surrender has happened at a time when Union Home Minister Amit Shah is reviewing anti -Naxal activities in Bastar. This development is considered a major success for the security forces, making the expectation of peace restoration in the region even stronger. Earlier on Friday, three men and a female Naxalite had surrendered.
