The comedian wrote in the Instagram post, “Habitat is only one platform. There is a place for all types of shows. Habitate (or any other place) is not responsible for my comedy, nor does he have any control over what I say or do. Neither any political party does so.”
He further wrote, “It is as silly to attack a venue for the words of a comedian as to overturn a truck carrying tomatoes because you did not like the served butter chicken.”
Regarding the threats he received, Kamra said, “His right to freedom of speech and expression should not be used only to flatter powerful and rich people, even though today’s media assures us on the contrary. I am ready to cooperate with the police and court for any legal action taken against me.”
Kamra is accused of controversial remarks on Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde without naming. Kamra uploaded the parody song through her social media accounts, in which the word ‘traitor’ was used for the Shiv Sena chief.
