Raipur ‘Mayor Meenal Choubey to improve heaven’ budget of 1529 crore

‘We have made us, we will be groomed, Raipur will be shone like heaven, every street will shine every turn, light the flame of new construction’ with the poetry of Mayor Meenal Choubey presented his first budget for Raipur Municipal Corporation. In the budget of a total of 1529 crore 53 lakh 28 thousand, an expenditure of Rs. 79 lakh 45 thousand has been estimated in a budget of Rs 1528 crore 73 lakh 83 thousand.

Mayor Meenal Choubey has described the total estimated income of Rs 1,462 crore 41 lakh 87 for the upcoming financial year 2025-26 of Raipur Municipal Corporation in the budget, in which capital income is 856 crore 58 lakh 42 thousand rupees and deposit work income is Rs 46 crore 17 lakh 25 thousand.

The Mayor informed that a total provision of 97 crore 03 lakh 56 thousand has been made for the work related to the Public Karma Department. Under this, 05 crore mainly for the construction of large drains, 01 crore for the construction of cement route, 05 lakh for asphaltization of the route, 02 crore for the office building in the zone office and each ward, 50 lakhs for pavement and paver construction, 10 crore for redevelopment of intersections, 05 crore for drain construction, 05 crore for drainage, 01 crore for WWM route, 01 crore for WWM route 0 A provision of crores 50 lakh has been kept.

At the same time, an estimate of 68 crore 25 lakh 18 thousand rupees has been estimated for the total expenditure related to the water work department. A provision of Rs 01 crore 50 lakh has been made for its drinking water transport work, Rs 30 lakh for the purchase/installation work of power pump, Rs 02 crore for water system.

A expenditure of 14 crore 52 lakh 63 thousand rupees has been proposed for the revenue department. Apart from this, a provision of 77 crore 55 lakh 27 thousand rupees has been kept for food, public health and sanitation. This includes mosquito eradication, castration of stray dogs, solid waste management, machine purchasing, Safai Mitra Yojana, purchase of medicines and equipment for hospitals.

Expenditure of Rs 73 crore 99 lakh 29 thousand has been estimated for the Department of Electricity and Mechanics. Under this, a provision of Rs 01 crore has been made for electrification, Rs 50 lakh for solar energy related work, Rs 02 crore for purchasing electricity material.

Expenditure of 88 lakh 60 thousand rupees has been provided for the Department of Poverty Elimination and Social Welfare. At the same time, a total of 42 lakh 56 thousand rupees have been proposed for the Women and Child Development Department. Under this, efforts will be made to provide self-employment to poor women of the corporation area through cottage industries.

A provision of 07 crore 89 lakh 57 thousand has been made for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department in the budget. At the same time, there is a provision of Rs 06 crore 60 lakh for the development works of Scheduled Castes and Tribes wards. With this, special provision has been made to provide vocational training to the youth and women of this class.

Apart from this, a provision of Rs 02 crore has been made for the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare. This includes the expenses of sports camps, sports training and annual function for players. For the Department of Environment and Horticulture, an expenditure of 27 crore 10 lakh 90 thousand rupees has been proposed. In this, a provision of 08 crore 80 lakh rupees has been made for establishment of new gardens, Rs 03 crore 85 lakh for maintenance of gardens, Rs 02 crore 20 lakh for sports material, Rs 02 crore 75 lakh for plantation.

An expenditure of Rs 03 crore 42 lakh 55 thousand has been proposed for the Department of Culture, Tourism, Entertainment and Heritage Protection. This includes organizing and encouraging seminars for promotion of Chhattisgarhi language, expenditure for the establishment of music and cultural clubs for corporation employees and public.

Along with this, an expenditure of Rs 189 crore 93 lakh 69 thousand has been proposed through zone offices for zone expenditure. In this, 58 crore 01 lakh 25 thousand rupees for cleaning contract, concrete of abuses – 17 crore 64 lakh 20 thousand rupees, Rs 10 crore 77 lakh 54 thousand for road maintenance, 07 crore 74 lakh 98 thousand rupees for community building construction, 03 crore 37 lakh 71 thousand rupees for annual maintenance of all buildings, Rs 06 crore 95 lakh 38 thousand for annual maintenance of all buildings.

Apart from this, a provision of Rs 05 crore 25 lakh 29 thousand has been made for the councilor fund, Rs 02 crore 28 lakh 35 thousand for cleaning public wells and ponds.

Along with this, an estimated proposal has been made for a total expenditure of 789 crore 89 lakh 50 thousand rupees in capital expenditure. In this, a provision of Rs 45 crore for the housing scheme, Rs 05 crore for the Amrit Mission Scheme, Rs 01 crore for treatment plant for purification of drains before meeting in Kharun River, Rs 94 crore 70 lakh for infrastructure item, Rs 120 crore for the infrastructure item, Rs 120 crore for the widening of the city development scheme/route.

80 lakh rupees for the Unmukt Sports Ground Scheme (Progress Maidan in Pandri), Rs 04 crore 78 lakh for the work to be done on the recommendation of councilors, 80 lakh rupees for Muktidham scheme, 80 lakh rupees for public toilet scheme, Rs 01 crore for zebra crossing at intersections, Rs 01 crore, archaeological and historic sites 01 million rupees, Rs.1 crore for the market, Rs. In the budget, on the lines of Nalanda campus, the Central Library cum Reading Zone Chhattisgarh Government has approved Rs 2,284.56 lakh for the construction of 2 central library cum reading zones of 500 seater in Raipur district. This scheme has been prepared to provide world class study facilities to the youth. An amount of Rs 9,300 lakh has been approved under this scheme for Municipal Corporation, Municipal Corporation, Raipur.

In the major works included in this scheme, the development of the 18 Major Road Junction of Raipur Mahadev Ghat revival scheme (Face-1) The construction of the techno tower near Telebandha Chowk, in which facilities like co-working space, trade and IT towers will be developed. 3,761 lakh rupees have been sanctioned for various important works.

In this, 1,500 lakh rupees for construction of road from Gauravath and widening work from CACB Chowk to Pachpedi Naka, 300 lakhs for Chuiya Talab beautification in Takkar Baba Ward (Ward 17), 2,000 kiloliter capacity and 25 meters height wateror, Rising line, disorder line, domestic connection and Rs 1,961 lakh for automination work have been kept.

Under the Mahila Swavalamban Yojana, Deendayal Antyodaya National Urban Livelihood Mission will be linked to bank linkage to women self-help groups for economic empowerment of urban poor and women. They will be provided skill training related to their business.

The Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana will be made more and more street vendors self -sufficient. They will be trained in digital transactions and their families will be provided benefits of government schemes.

Development of identified places will be developed to major markets so that business activities can be made smooth. Apart from this, training for third gender community will be trained to members of third gender community according to their interest. They will be empowered economically and socially to connect them to the mainstream of society.

For working women, Hostel for Working Women will be constructed at three places in Vasati Griha Raipur. Clean and facilitated women toilet houses will be built in public women’s toilet home markets and crowded areas. There will also be a sanitary vending machines and baby feeding rooms. Not only this, surveillance cameras will be installed to promote women safety for women safety. A budget provision of Rs 20 lakh has been made for women self -reliance, safety and convenience expansion.

For the expansion of women self -reliance and convenience, sanitary napkin vending machines and incinerator machines will be installed keeping in mind the health of women in women toilets located in zone offices under the Swachh Bharat Mission. A provision of ₹ 25 lakh has been made in the annual budget for this scheme.

For the self -reliance and employment generation of women, an amount of Rs 10 crore has been provided by the state government, from which the garment factory will be operated and local women and youth will be provided economic prosperity by linking them with employment.

Youths (Youth Hostels) will be prepared for the youth. Also, for the participants preparing for national and state level competitive examinations, state-of-the-art high-tech library will be set up in different areas on the lines of Nalanda Library. A budget provision of ₹ 15 crore and ₹ 22.48 crore has been made for this scheme. Play zones will be developed, so that children and youth can connect with sports activities and promote social harmony and sportsmanship. An amount of ₹ 2.5 crore has been provided by the state government for this scheme.

Mahadev Ghat will be beautified to conserve the religious and cultural heritage of Raipur. There is a budget provision of ₹ 15 crore for this. Also, historical sites and heritage will also be preserved.

Electronic market, crystal arcade commercial hubs and trade towers will be set up to develop Raipur city as a major commercial center. This will provide startups and self -employment opportunities to young entrepreneurs. A budget of ₹ 219 crore has been set for this scheme.

Divyang Friendly Building, Cosmetics Home and Divyang Parks will be developed by establishing coordination with the Social Welfare Department to remove obstacles in the development of the disabled. An amount of Rs 10 crore has been sanctioned for this.

For new employment generation, Chowpati sites will be constructed in the zone office areas, so that small traders and path vendors can get proper place for business. Startups and innovation centers will be set up, so that youth can connect with innovation activities and employment generation. A budget of Rs 10 crore has been set for this scheme.

Special schemes will be implemented for conservation of ponds and reservoirs of Raipur city. Waterclass withdrawal machines will be purchased, so that cleaning of the ponds can be ensured. Apart from this, Jora pond, Chuiya pond and Karbala pond will be redeveloped and various parks will be developed. A budget of Rs 30 crore has been set for this scheme.

Flyover will be constructed at Udyog Bhawan, Rajendra Nagar, Sarona and Telibandha to provide a metropolitan form to Raipur. The 18 major square-intersections of the city will be redeveloped. CCTV cameras and modern monitoring mechanisms will be installed to strengthen traffic and crime control. Apart from this, automatic parking facility will be developed at identified places. Concrete initiatives will be taken for asphalt and plantation of roads. An amount of ₹ 61 crore has been set in the budget for all these works.
