A sit -in demonstration was organized by the World Hindu Council near the tomb of Aurangzeb in Nagpur. Meanwhile, the rumor spread that the sheet of the dargah has been burnt. In such a situation, a large number of youths came out on the road from the Muslim side. After which the crowd came out on the streets on the evening of March 17 and riots were erupted.
Irfan Ansari, who was injured in Nagpur violence, has died. This is the first death in this incident. The police has arrested more than 100 people in the case related to violence. After the violence on the night of 17 March, the police imposed curfew in about 11 areas to restore peace in the city, with curfew from 2 areas. At the same time, there is still curfew in 9 areas. These include Ganeshpeth, Kotwali, Tehsil, Lakdganj, Pachpavali, Shantinagar, Sakkardara, Imamwara and Yashodharanagar police station area.
CM visited Nagpur
After the violence, CM Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has reached Nagpur. Chief Minister Fadnavis should also meet senior police officers regarding the riots in Nagpur. During this, the CM said that the police had controlled this riot in 4-5 hours of the incident. Many policemen have also been injured during complete violence.
