Raipur
MP Brijmohan Agrawal has written a letter to Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjrapu Rammohan Naidu to demand international status to Raipur Airport. He has appealed to take necessary action to connect Raipur with countries like the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Thailand and Vietnam.
MP Brijmohan Agrawal wrote in the letter that after the meeting of the Airport Advisory Committee held on 26 December, we have approached various international airlines to connect Raipur Airport with countries like United Arab Emirates (UAE), Thailand and Vietnam. During this time it was revealed that according to the bilateral agreement between India and the UAE in 2014, direct flights are currently allowed for UAE from only 15 Indian cities, in which 66,000 seats are being exchanged.
He said that in the discussion with the UAE ambassador, it has been revealed that while revision of this agreement, provision should be made to connect 30 Indian airports with UAE instead of 15. This subject has also been raised by many MPs in the past, but no concrete decision has been taken so far.
Brijmohan Agrawal reviewed the bilateral agreement between India and UAE from the Union Minister to provide international status to Raipur Airport. This step will prove to be helpful in not only Raipur but also in the economic and social development of the entire region.
