Donald Trump said- Hopefully India will soon cut tariffs on American goods

Washington
US President Donald Trump said he hoped that India will soon cut the tariffs imposed on American goods. With this, Trump again reiterated that the US will take retaliation against India from April 2. Trump accused India of imposing heavy tariffs on American goods, saying that it made it impossible for American companies to enter the Indian market.

Trump said, “I think India is probably going to reduce these tariffs to a great extent. But from April 2, we will put the same tariffs on them that they put on us.” Trump had earlier announced that from April 2, counter -tariffs will be implemented against those countries which are leaving high fees on US products. A few days before this, Trump claimed that India had agreed to reduce the tariff. He said, “Somebody has finally exposed them what they were doing.”

“Somebody finally exposed them”
Trump said, “India imposes a large scale tariff on us. On a very large scale. You cannot sell anything there… but now they have agreed; they now want to bring their tariffs very low because someone has finally exposed them.” Trump had earlier addressed India as “Tariff King” and “Bada Mistactor”. Recently, during a press conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House, he discussed business obstacles with India and mentioned the difficulties in the Indian market for American products. Trump also pointed to the trade deficit of about $ 100 billion with India and said that talks are on to overcome this imbalance.

150 percent tariff on American liquor in India
White House Press Secretary Caroline Lewit also criticized India’s trade policy, saying that India imposes 150 percent tariffs on US liquor and 100 percent on agricultural products. He said, “I have a chart, showing that not only canada, but also in other countries, there is a huge duty on American products. If you look at Canada, there is about 300 percent tariff on American cheese and butter. India has 150 percent tariff on American liquor. Do you think it will help to export Kentki bombon to India?

This announcement of the Trump administration is likely to bring a new turn in the Indo-US trade relations. Now it has to be seen how much India cuts its tariff and what is the reaction of the Government of India. Experts believe that if this cut, it can promote trade between the two countries, but it will also see its impact on Indian domestic industries.
