Delhi’s PWD and Water Minister Pravesh Verma met with the MLAs and planned 100 days for development works related to their departments. The agenda of the new BJP government of Delhi includes repair of roads and drains, sewer cleaning and drainage management, floods and waterlogging problems, action against illegal encroachment and expediting pending development projects.
Verma said, “No work has been done in Delhi for years. The situation has become so bad that we need to work on a warfare to give relief to the people. Work for service. “
MLAs from Shakur Basti, Trilokpur, Patparganj, Laxmi Nagar, Mundka, Nangloi Jat, Moti Nagar, Madipur (West Area), Mangalapuri and Kirari attended the meeting held at the Delhi Secretariat. Officials of PWD, Delhi Jal Board and Irrigation and Flood Control Department were present in the meeting.
Pravesh Verma told HT that it has been decided to hold a meeting with MLAs and concerned officials to speed up development works. Verma said that now every MLA is keeping the problems of his constituency directly in front of the officials and immediate instructions are being given to the concerned departments. The BJP government will work on a war footing to provide relief to Delhiites. The impact of this initiative will appear at the ground level in the next 100 days.
