In order to increase the income of the beneficiaries running auto rickshaws in the state and keep the city pollution free, the Urban Development and Housing Department has decided to implement the Chief Minister’s e-rickshaw scheme from this year. Under the scheme, 3500 beneficiaries will be benefited in the first phase. Subsidies will also be given in interest from the Central Government and the State Government in the loan amount to the beneficiaries benefited under the scheme. In the urban bodies in the state, the Chief Minister’s e-rickshaw scheme will be implemented continuously by the year 2027-28. Urban Development and Housing Department Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya informed that through the scheme, the state government will fulfill the resolution of auto and taxi driver welfare according to the resolution letter 2023.
Format of scheme
Under the scheme, the beneficiary will be benefited by purchasing new e-rickshaws and re-equipped (retro fitting) old diesel and petrol rickshaws and benefited. The selected beneficiaries will be provided interest free individual loan up to Rs 4 lakh in Deendayal Jan-Jeevika Mission-urban component. Along with this, interest grant of 8 percent on the loan received by the beneficiary will be provided by the Central Government in the account through DBT. The amount of 5 percent interest grant on the loan taken under the Chief Minister’s e-rickshaw scheme will be borne by the state government. The beneficiary will be provided with collectorate free loan.
Under the Chief Minister’s e-rickshaw scheme, the women’s empowerment mission of the government will be strengthened by providing special benefits to urban poor women. The Urban Development and Housing Department has set the conditions for beneficiary selection. Under this, it is necessary to reside in the urban area of the beneficiary. The benefit of the scheme will be available to the beneficiary of 18 to 55 years, who is operating an auto rickshaw from the east. The selected beneficiary must have a motor vehicle license. The scheme will be implemented by the urban bodies through the District Urban Development Agency. The beneficiary will receive the application for free.
Task force committee
A Task Force Committee will be formed to resolve the applications received in the district. The Project Officer will be the chairman of the Urban Development Agency Committee. Other members also include bank representative and plan in -charge. The case will be compulsorily disposed of by banks in 30 days. After this, it has also been made mandatory to distribute loans in the appointed 15 days. No type of collable security will be demanded from the applicant by banks. Necessary provisions are being made in the budget for the implementation of the scheme.
