Development of silk industry will get momentum: Minister of State Jaiswal

Minister of State for Cottage and Village Industries (Independent Charge) Shri Dilip Jaiswal inaugurated the silk agricultural fair-2025 at Narmadapuram. He said that organizing the fair will give impetus to the development of the silk industry. Silk agricultural fair is an important event dedicated to the progress of the silk industry. This fair is being organized by the Central Silk Board Textiles Ministry, Government of India in collaboration with the Silk Department of Madhya Pradesh Government. The purpose of this program is to make farmers, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders aware of the latest technologies and best practices of silk production. The program has also been organized to honor silk farmers who have excelled in the field of silk production.

Minister of State Shri Jaiswal inaugurated the exhibition stall of silk products at the fair. Various types of silk products were performed. Also, promotional books were released to provide scientific information to the beneficiaries.

During the program, a technical session was organized by experts from the Central Silk Board Basic Tussar Silkavarm Seed Organization, Bilaspur and Central Silk Research and Training Institute, Mysore. In this session, detailed discussion was held on the product diversification in the advanced techniques of debilitant and tusser cocoon production, cultivation of host plants, rearing methods, cocoons and silk sub-products in the price promotion chain of silk sub-products.

Around 400 beneficiaries, farmer researchers, policy-makers and industry experts attended the fair. The fair encouraged cooperation, knowledge exchange and innovation in the silk industry through exhibition, technical lectures and interactive sessions.

Special guest MPs Mr. Darshan Singh Chaudhary, Mrs. Maya Narolia, MLA Dr. Sitasaran Sharma, Mr. Vijaypal Singh, Mr. Thakurdas Nagvanshi and Mr. Prem Shankar Verma were present on the occasion. Member Secretary of Central Silk Board Mr. P. Shivkumar, Commissioner Resham Mr. Mohit Bundas, Divisional Commissioner Shri Krishna Gopal Tiwari and Collector Mrs. Sonia Meena also attended the program.
