A woman and a male Naxalite have surrendered before Narayanpur SP. Both these Naxalites were active in the Bhoramdev Area Committee, both the Naxalites decided to surrender and return to the mainstream of the society. Which had a reward of five lakh rupees.
The government’s rehabilitation policy, Maad Bachao Abhiyan and the increasing influence of security forces are the main reason behind surrender. In the last few years, Naxalites are disillusioned with the organization due to rapid development work, road construction and various government schemes in the inner areas of Abujhmad.
The security forces gave an incentive amount of Rs 25,000 to the surrendered Maoists and have assured them to provide homes, jobs and other facilities under the rehabilitation policy. During this time, the number of surrender of Naxalites is increasing due to the continuous operation of BSF and District Police, causing a major setback to the top Maoist leadership. According to the police, more Naxalites can surrender in the coming days.
