Ujjain
Preparations for Ujjain Simhastha 2028 are in full swing. Learning from Prayagraj Kumbh, special attention is being paid to crowd management this time. At the same time, after replacing the “royal bath” in Prayagraj Kumbh to “Amrit Snan”, now Mahesh Pujari, the priest of Mahakal temple of Ujjain and president of the priest Mahasangh, has demanded to change some traditional words prevalent in Kumbh. Along with this, different arena has also been advised to bathe at different ghats.
Demand for Sanatani naming in place of traditional words
Mahesh Sharma, senior priest of Ujjain Mahakal temple, said, “Just as the name of Lord Mahakal’s ride was changed to” royal ride “, similarly other words used in Aquarius should also be amended. Because this time in Prayagraj, the word royal was removed and the name of Amrit Snan was given. ” He especially mentioned the words “Cantonment” and “Peshwai”, which are associated with British and Maratha period respectively. They believe that these words historically remind of foreign rule, so they should be removed and given new names according to the Sanatani tradition. ”
Appeal to change the name of historical buildings
Mahesh Sharma, priest of Mahakal temple, said, “Many historical buildings in the country are still known by Mughal names, which are seen as a symbol of slavery. The government is urged to change their names according to Indian culture and tradition. The name of Mahakal ride has already been changed. ” It is worth noting that the last ride of Mahakal, which came out during the month of Sawan-Bhadau in 2024, was called “royal ride” instead of “royal ride”. This change was widely supported and “royal ride” was used in all announcements.
