Raipur
Democracy has achieved a historical achievement in the first phase of the three-tier panchayat elections in Chhattisgarh. Bastar division, which has been under the shadow of Naxalism for decades, is now moving towards the light of democracy. Many polling stations in Sukma and Bijapur districts are voting in the rural panchayat elections after several decades for the first time.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that in Bastar, people have chosen the path of development and have shown the way out of violence. He said that this change is the result of strong will, sustainable development works and strong security system of the state and central government. This is not only an election, but a proof of the growing faith in democracy in Naxal -affected areas and the growing steps towards fear -free society.

No opposition to panchayat elections in Bastar by Naxalites is the result of the establishment of more than 40 new security camps in the area and the strategy of the government to restore confidence in the villagers. It is noteworthy that this time the villagers are excited to vote in the village of Naxal Commander Hidma in Bastar. This is a historical change and reflects the victory of democratic values.

There was also tremendous enthusiasm about voting in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki, Dantewada and Gariaband districts in the state. Villagers voted fearlessly in areas like Pusanar, Gangalur, Cherpal, Reddy, Palanar in Bijapur.

Chief Minister Sai said that the process of eliminating Naxalism in Bastar has now reached a decisive turn. According to the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, a target has been set to free Chhattisgarh from Naxalism by March 2026. The state government is determined to connect the citizens of Bastar with development, education, health, employment and basic facilities. Roads, bridges, schools, hospitals and employment projects are being given priority in Bastar, which has increased the confidence of the villagers in governance and democracy.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said on this historical achievement that the republic is being conquered over the gun in Bastar. This is the victory of all the villagers who abandoned fear and adopted democracy. This is a reward for the hard work of the security forces, the government’s vision and public participation.

The participation of every citizen is important in this victory of democracy. He said that even in the Naxal-affected areas of Chhattisgarh, the successful and peaceful event of the voting process proves that the faith of the common man towards democracy is getting stronger day by day. The participation of every citizen is important in this success of democracy, and the voters of the state showed that they are fully aware of their rights and responsibilities.
