Northern Railway announced to run 4 special trains during Mahakumbh Mela

Northern Railway announced to run 4 special trains in view of the increasing crowd during the Mahakumbh Mela. Northern Railway said, “To reduce the convenience of passengers and to reduce the additional crowd during the Mahakumbh Mela, the Railways has decided to run 4 Mahakumbh Mela special trains. These trains will be run especially keeping in mind the passengers traveling during the Mahakumbh Mela. Of these, 3 trains will run from New Delhi railway station and 1 train will run from Anand Vihar Terminal. “

These 4 trains run for Mahakumbh:

  • Train number 04420 will start from New Delhi at 7 pm and will go to Phaphamau Junction via Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Bareilly, Lucknow, Rae Bareli.
  • Train number 04422 will leave New Delhi at 9 pm and go from Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Bareilly, Lucknow and Rae Bareli to Phaphamau Junction.
  • Train number 04424 will leave from Anand Vihar Terminal at 8 pm. The train will go to Phaphamau via Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Bareilly, Lucknow and Rae Bareli.
  • Train number 04418 will start from New Delhi at three in the afternoon and will go to Ghaziabad, Chipayana Buzurg, Kanpur, Lucknow, Phaphamau, Varanasi, Deen Dayal Upadhyay and Pataliputra Junction to Darbhanga.

Stampede at New Delhi railway station: Due to the holiday on Saturday and Sunday, a large number of people from Delhi go to Prayagraj to bathe in Kumbh. Special trains are also being run by the railway, which provides convenience to the passengers. Not only this, 18 people died and many were injured in a stampede at New Delhi railway station late on Saturday night. The injured are being given treatment in various hospitals. After this, the Railways has announced special trains.

3 big reasons… which spoiled the situation and lost
Three trains were going to Prayagraj: Prayagraj Special Train, Bhubaneswar Rajdhani and Freedom Fighter X. Both trains were late and the crowd was on platform-14. When the Prayagraj special train arrived here, it was announced that Bhubaneswar was coming to the capital platform number 16, which on hearing the crowd on platform-14 ran towards 16.

Many were at the ticket counter, 90% of which were going to Prayagraj; On receiving information about the arrival of the train suddenly, people ran towards the platform, which led to a stampede. For two weeks, the crowd of people going to Kumbh was constantly increasing, but the station administration did not build any control room. On Saturday too, the crowd started growing from 7 pm, but no attention was paid.

Delhi Police Boli- Delhi Police said that the name of two trains being named Prayagraj was disputed during the train announcement as a Prayagraj Express was already on platform 14. Those who could not reach their train on platform 14, they thought that their train was coming on platform 16, it caused stampede.
