Under Modi’s leadership, BJP contested in 8 states- Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Maharashtra and Jharkhand. In this, BJP or coalition governments have been formed in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal, Odisha, Haryana and Maharashtra.
NDA government in 21 states
Delhi: The BJP has returned to power after 26 years in the Delhi elections. The party has won 48 out of 70 seats and now preparations have started to announce the name of CM.
Haryana: Out of 90 seats in the Haryana assembly elections, BJP had registered 48 seats. BJP has formed the government for the third time in Haryana. Naib Singh Saini is the 19th Chief Minister of Haryana.
Uttar Pradesh: Yogi Adityanath is the Chief Minister in Uttar Pradesh. He became the CM of UP for the first time in 2017 and the second time in 2022. Now the next assembly election is in 2027.
Uttarakhand: Out of 70 seats in the Uttarakhand assembly elections, BJP won 47 seats. Pushkar Singh Dhami is the Chief Minister. The next assembly election is in 2027.
Bihar: Bihar has NDA government and Nitish Kumar is the Chief Minister.
Odisha: In 2024, out of 147 assembly seats in Odisha, BJP won 78 seats. The current Chief Minister of Odisha is Mohan Charan Majhi.
Rajasthan: In Rajasthan, BJP won 115 seats out of 200 seats. Bhajan Lal Sharma is the current Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
Gujarat: BJP won 156 out of 182 seats in Gujarat. Bhupendra Patel is the current Chief Minister.
Maharashtra: BJP won 132 seats in 288 seats in Maharashtra. Devendra Fadnavis is the Chief Minister. Shinde and Ajit Pawar are deputy CMs.
Goa: In Goa with 40 assembly seats, BJP received 26 seats and Pramod Sawant is the Chief Minister of NDA.
Madhya Pradesh: In the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, BJP won 163 out of 230 seats. Mohan Yadav is the current Chief Minister.
Chhattisgarh: In the Chhattisgarh assembly elections, BJP won 54 seats in 90 assembly seats. The current Chief Minister is Vishnu Dev Sai.
Andhra Pradesh: Andhra Pradesh has the NDA government and Chandrababu Naidu is the Chief Minister.
Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura have a BJP government.
Meghalaya, Sikkim and Nagaland have NDA coalition governments.
Elections in 21 states in 3 years
West Bengal in 2026, There will be elections in Assam, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Gujarat in 2027Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur have assembly elections. 2
Nagaland in 2028Tripura, Karnataka, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan are included.
NDA dominates in central and western India
Along with Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Gujarat also have BJP governments. BJP won in Gujarat in 2022 and Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan in 2023. The BJP -led NDA won in Maharashtra in November 2024.
Similarly, NDA is occupied in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh of North India. There is a government of India in Jharkhand and West Bengal. India has a government in 4 out of 5 states of South India. In Kerala, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, India is the NDA government in Andhra.
140 crore population, NDA rule over 92
The country’s population is still around 140 crores. After the victory in Delhi, NDA has been ruled by 92 crore people. NDA is ruled by Uttar Pradesh (24 crore), Maharashtra (12 crore) and Bihar (12 crore) with more than 10 crore population. There is no India government in any state with a population of 10 crore or more.
NDA has a government in 4 out of 7 states with more than 5 crore population. At the same time, India has a government in three states. There is a government of India coalition in West Bengal (9 crore), Tamil Nadu (7 crore) and Karnataka (6 crore) with a population of more than 5 crore.
Similarly, NDA has government in Andhra Pradesh (5 crore), Gujarat (6 crore), Madhya Pradesh (8 crore) and Rajasthan (8 crore). At the same time, if we talk about states with 1-5 crore population, out of 10 states, NDA and 4 are India government.
NDA has government in states like Assam (3.5 crore), Chhattisgarh (3 crore), Delhi (1.87 crore), Haryana (2.8 crore). Meghalaya has a population of around 33 lakhs. There is no coalition government here.
NDA government in 21 states for the first time
In mid -2018, BJP was at the top of power. At that time the party had a government of 20 states. Apart from all the 7 states of the Northeast, the governments of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana and Maharashtra were included.
After this, BJP’s performance continued to fall continuously. After 7 years, BJP has now broken its 20 states records.
AAP veteran collapse in saffron wave
In the saffron wave, many big leaders of the party including AAP national convenor and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj, former minister Satyendra Jain lost the election. Chief Minister Atishi also faced a tough contest, but she managed to win the election by about 3,500 votes.
Congress benefits, vote percentage increased
The performance of the Congress has improved. His vote percentage has increased, but his account could not be opened even in the third consecutive election.
BJP makes a dent in AAP voters
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections of 2014 and 2019, he had to face badly defeat in the assembly elections held a few months after winning all the seven seats of Delhi. So the party was cautious this time and started preparing after the Lok Sabha elections. The party started a public relations campaign from June itself in the slums considered to be AAP’s strong vote bank.
Along with this, the party started making the issue of corruption allegations against Kejriwal and AAP government. The party vigorously raised the case of liquor scam and Sheeshamahal raised vigorous issues like liquor scam, Sheeshamahal.
The allegations of corruption were further edited when the election campaign began. PM Modi addressed the AAP government for the plight of Delhi and addressed it as AAP. He called upon the people of Delhi to give a chance to serve, calling for freedom from AAP to create a world-class Delhi.
