Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the aircraft accident in the US capital Washington DC. A helicopter and aircraft collided in the air at the Reagan National Airport, killing more than 60 people. Expressing grief over this accident, PM Modi posted a post on social media handle X.
In this, he said, “Washington DC caused deep sadness to the death of people in the tragic aircraft accident. We express deep condolences to the families of the victims. In this moment of sorrow, we are standing with the American people. ” Let me tell you that on January 30, a passenger aircraft collided with a helicopter near the White House in the US capital Washington DC and fell victim to the accident. There were 60 passengers in this aircraft.
The aircraft was going from Kansas City to Washington. According to Washington DC Fire Services, the accident took place on Wednesday evening. Several flights were also canceled after this accident. The aircraft fell into the Potomac River, after which the rescue operation was started. The aircraft was to land at Ronald Rigan International Airport in Washington.
The US Federal Aviation Administration also made a statement in this regard. In which it said that Sikorski H-60 collided with a helicopter while reaching the passenger aircraft runway near Reagan National Airport in Washington DC. The crashed aircraft belonged to American Airlines.
American Airlines, which operates passenger aircraft, said in a statement that the aircraft had 60 passengers and four crew members. At the same time, a US defense officer was quoted as saying that there were three soldiers in the Black Hawk helicopter. Local media claimed that no living person could be evacuated from the river in an accident near Reagan National Airport at Washington DC on Wednesday.
