The Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to begin from February 19, but Australia has suffered a major setback before this mega event. The team’s star all -rounder Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the entire tournament due to a back injury. Cricket Australia itself has confirmed this. Marsh also seems difficult to play in the upcoming IPL season. Let me tell you, IPL 2025 will start from March 21 and Marsh was part of Lucknow Super Giants this season.
Earlier, Mitchell Marsh had a stress fracture, but Cricket Australia has denied these reports. A Cricket Australian spokesperson said, “The National Selection Panel and Australian men’s medical team have dropped Marsh out of the tournament due to injury, as he has not been able to recover despite the rehab.”
He further said, “Her lower back pain increased in recent weeks, due to which the NSP took a long -term decision to complete a long period of Marsh’s rehab. Marsh will now go through rest and rehab for some time as part of a return plan in the game. The NSP will hold a meeting to decide on the replacement of Marsh when the time comes. ”
Marsh has been struggling with back problems since the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India, and the Squad was replaced by the Squad before the last match of the series in Sydney. Marsh played an important role in Australia’s victory in the 2023 World Cup, scoring 441 runs at an average of 49.00 with a strike rate of 107.56, including centuries against Bangladesh and Pakistan.
