The candidates for the post of Mayor-Councilor contesting elections in 10 municipal corporations of the state had to pay the remaining tax under the election rules. Due to this, the municipal corporations have received revenue of about three crore rupees from the tax deposited by the candidates in six days.
Raipur Municipal Corporation has received the maximum amount. There is a rule to take No Objection Certificate (NOC) from candidates and proposers contesting elections. Due to the election, the revenue staff of the Municipal Corporation could not go to the revenue collection of many public representatives.
Now such public representatives went on and reached the corporation office. He took out his entire account and took the amount and took a no objection certificate.
NOC process started from 22
The process started on 22 January to get NOC from municipal corporations. It lasted till 27 January. NOC has been issued to 1,974 people by the Revenue Department of Raipur Corporation. They have received revenue of about 65 lakh rupees.
At the same time, a total of 430 people, including candidates and their proposers in Ambikapur, have obtained a No Objection Certificate. They have received revenue of Rs 62.75 lakh. In Rajnandgaon, 380 has received a revenue of nine lakh 67 thousand 385 for issuing MOC.
Similarly, in Dhamtari, Rs. 3.75 lakh for issuing NOC to 152, Rs 15 lakh to Durg Nigam, 12 lakhs for issuing 270 NOCs in Bastar, Korba Corporation has a revenue of Rs 39.12 lakh.
109 candidates claimed for the mayor
109 candidates have claimed for the post of Mayor in the corporations. Most of them are 28 from Raipur. In 33 districts of the state, 816 for the post of president and 10,776 for the councilor have filled the nomination form.
Apart from this, elections are also to be held in 49 municipalities and 114 nagar panchayats. Elections are to be held for 433 members of Zilla Panchayat and 2,973 posts of Janpad Panchayat. Voting is to be held on 11,672 posts for the post of sarpanch in gram panchayats and 1 lakh 60 thousand 180 posts for ward panch.
Let us tell you that elections are to be held in 10 out of 14 municipal corporations of the state. There will be no elections in Risali, Bhilai, Birgaon and Bhilai-Charoda Corporation, as their term will be completed in December-2025.
So NOC is required
It is necessary to take NOC from the Municipal Corporation, as it confirms the transfer of ownership of the property. It is also a legal document. Apart from this, it is also decided which candidate is defaulter or which candidate has submitted the form correctly.
