Sachin Tendulkar, who is called the God of Cricket, will be awarded the BCCI’s Lifetime Achievement Award. He will be given this prestigious award at the board’s annual ceremony in Mumbai on Saturday. 51 -year -old Tendulkar, who plays 664 international matches for India, holds the record for the most Test and ODI runs in the history of cricket. The board source told PTI, “Yes, he will receive the CK Naidu Lifetime Achievement Award for the year 2024.”
Tendulkar’s 200 Tests and 463 ODIs are the highest by any player in cricket history. In addition to 18,426 runs in ODIs, he scored 15,921 Test runs. He has played only one T20 International in his brilliant career. In 2023, the award was given to former India head coach Ravi Shastri and former veteran wicketkeeper Farooq Engineer. Tendulkar, who was considered the greatest batsman of his era, was known for scoring runs in every situation. He made his Test match debut in the Test match against Pakistan in 1989 at the age of 16 and 205 days. After this, he dominated for more than two decades (24 years).
He also has a record of scoring 100 centuries by mixing Tests and ODI formats. Tendulkar, who holds many batting records, was also a prominent member of India’s 2011 World Cup winning team. This was his record sixth and last World Cup. When Sachin was at his peak of his game, a large population of the country used to stop to see his batting. He was the most afraid of the bowlers of rival teams. Many former veteran bowlers from all over the world have said this, they only have trouble with Tendulkar in Indian batsmen.
Sachin will be the 31st recipient of this award. The BCCI launched the award in 1994 in honor of India’s first captain Colonel CK Naidu. Naidu has a 47 -year -long first class career between 1916 and 1963. This is a world record. Naidu also served the game as an administrator.
