Vasant Panchami, the festival of the arrival of Rituraj Vasant, will be celebrated on 3 February. It will begin with the courtyard of Lord Mahakal. In Bhasma Aarti, the priest will offer yellow flowers and gulal of spring to Lord Mahakal.
During the day, the education place of Lord Krishna will be celebrated at Sandipani Ashram. Lord Krishna will be adorned with vasanti flowers and offered sweet yellow rice by wearing yellow clothes. Vasant Panchami is also the day of Mata Saraswati. Saraswati will be worshiped in the Ved Pathshala and Gurukuls of the city.
Spring festival takes place in all temples
Pt. Mahesh Pujari of Mahakal temple said that Vasant Panchami is a festival of knowledge, meditation, gaiety, joy and new Pallava. Therefore, both Shaiva and Vaishnavas enjoy Hari, Hari’s Bhajan, Pujan, celebration. That is why spring festival is celebrated equally in temples of Shaiva and Vaishnava tradition.
Abhishek with Panchamrit with Mahakal’s case
Lord Mahakal will be anointed with Panchamrit with saffron at Bhasma Aarti at 4 am in Jyotirlinga Mahakal Temple. After wearing yellow clothes, spring will be decorated with yellow flowers. After this, yellow flowers and gulal of mustard will be offered to God. According to the tradition of the temple, Gulal is offered to God in the daily Aarti from Vasant Panchami to Holi.
Sandipani Ashram: Children will be worshiped
Lord Krishna’s education place will be anointed with water containing saffron on Vasant Panchami at Sandipani Ashram, the education place of Lord Krishna. God will be wearing yellow yellow clothes to God. After that, Aarti will be performed by offering sweet yellow rice.
The day of the appearance of Maa Saraswati
Priest Pt. Roopam Vyas told Vasant Panchami It is the day of the appearance of Mata Saraswati, so in the school of Lord Krishna, on this day Pati is worshiped and the education of children is started.
Parents from all over the country bring young children who start learning for the first time to perform Pati Pujan. It is believed that children who study knowledge by worshiping Pati in Sandipani Ashram are meritorious.
Neil Saraswati: Abhishek will be done by ink
There is a small temple of Mata Neel Saraswati near Dharamshala of Chaurasia Samaj near Sinhapuri in the old city. This temple has a tradition to anoint Mata Saraswati with ink. Students come to anoint the mother with ink on the day of Vasant Panchami and before the annual examination. It is believed that students get success by the grace of Goddess.
