WFI will work from a new office in Connaught Place next month

New Delhi
The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) admitted that it was being operated from the residence of former chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh but it is a temporary arrangement and will start work from the new office in Connaught Place next month.

WFI was suspended by the Sports Ministry in December 2023, but despite the ongoing harassment trial against former chief and five -time BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh .

A WFI source said, “We used to work from a small office in Hari Nagar and were looking for a better place but due to the uncertainty of government suspension, there was a delay in transferring to the full office.”

He said, “On Basant Panchami, we will go to the new office in Connaught Place. All this happened due to suspension. Hopefully it will be removed and we will be able to work independently. Announcing the suspension, the ministry had said that running the work of the federation from within the premises controlled by the former officials was also one of the reasons for their action.

Singh was accused of making vulgar remarks with harassment and bullying after the country’s top wrestlers, including Bajrang Poonia and Vinesh Phogat, in early 2023 after protesting for months.
