According to experts, India is strengthening relations with ASEAN countries to deal with China’s challenge in the Indian Ocean. India’s Act East Policy is also in this direction. India’s policy is that defense and business relations with countries settled in the Hind Pacific region should be strengthened so that China’s interference is reduced. Strong relations with Indonesia in this direction will prove to be important in reducing China’s influence.
On the other hand, Pakistan meets Islamic countries and carries new conspiracies on the issue of Kashmir and minorities. But India’s diplomacy has isolated Pakistan in this matter too.
Modi has visited
PM Modi made an official visit to Indonesia in 2018. The two countries then extended bilateral relations to a widespread strategic partnership. Apart from this, Modi met President Probovo at Rio de Janeiro last year.
Increasing cooperation in every field including defense
In 2018, an agreement has also been signed to strengthen defense relations between the two. The armies of the two countries also perform joint exercises. Since 1997, cooperation has also been going on in the space sector. India also exports medicines and medical equipment to Indonesia. The Apollo group is helping in the establishment of hospitals there.
Agreements on agreements
The President will also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Probovo. During this time, subjects like politics, defense, security cooperation, business etc. will be discussed. There will be many agreements and some announcements can also be made.
India has made Indonesia the chief guest at the 76th Republic Day celebrations for the fourth time. President Probovo Subianto has reached Delhi on a three -day visit. During this time India may finalize the decision of the BrahMos cruise missile selling Indonesia. This is Probovo’s first visit to India after becoming President. There is also a marching and band squad of 352 members who will participate in the Republic Day parade along with Subiayanto. This is the first time Indonesia’s marching and band squad will participate in the national function of a country.
BrahMos will become the armor of Hind-Pacific countries
BrahMos supersonic cruise missile built in India will provide security shield to many countries settled in the Indo-Pacific region for self-defense from China. After the Philippines, now Indonesia is also going to buy BrahMos missile from India. Two other countries Malaysia and Vietnam have shown interest in it, while there are also indications from Thailand.
According to defense expert Captain DK Sharma, all of these countries are troubled by the activities of Chinese ships in the southern part of the Pacific Ocean (South China Sea). Chinese vessels try to establish a monopoly by entering the maritime border of these countries. The situation is that fishermen of these countries are unable to catch fish in their marine area. Till now, these countries were weak their defense preparations, so they are increasing their strength to deal with the aggression of Chinese ships. For this reason, the first Philippines bought BrahMos missile from India and now Indonesia is going to do the same. Further countries will also buy.
If sources are to be believed, Indonesia President Probovo Subianton’s visit to India can approve the $ 450 million BrahMos procurement deal between the two countries.
