Border Security Force (BSF) South Bengal Frontier troops, in a major operation ahead of the Republic Day, busted three underground storage tanks (bunkers) of iron used in smuggling in the Krishnaganj police station area near the India-Bangladesh border in Nadia district of Bengal. And a brick bunker under construction has been discovered.

Cough syrup worth Rs 1.40 crore recovered
Officials said that in this raid conducted on Friday in Naghata village on the border of Majhdia town of Krishnaganj on an intelligence information, a large consignment of 62,200 bottles of banned Phensedyl cough syrup worth more than Rs 1.40 crore was also recovered from the three iron bunkers. These Phensedyl bottles were to be smuggled across the border into Bangladesh.
