Changes increased in Ayushman scheme, now 9000 diseases will be covered

New Delhi

There have been major changes in the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Now, it will also cover those diseases for the treatment of which Rs 15-20 thousand had to be spent in private hospitals. This change of the Center will provide relief to a large population. Through Transaction Management System 2.0 (TMS), the government has also emphasized on stopping fraud in it.

Under ‘Ayushman Bharat’, treatment up to Rs 5 lakh per family is provided free of cost annually. Till now about 7500 types of diseases were covered under the scheme. TMS 2.0 will go live from 21st December 2024 with 9000 diseases being covered. Now normal delivery in private hospitals, fracture plaster, high fever and some dental related diseases are also being covered under the scheme.

You will be able to check balance soon on the app
According to Dr. Yogesh Bharsat, CEO of Ayushman Bharat Yojana Madhya Pradesh, soon Ayushman card holders in the state will be able to see how much amount of the scheme is left in their wallet through the app in their mobile. Now one has to go to the hospital for this. For this, work is going on to develop an app in the state. Madhya Pradesh will be the first state in the country to do this innovation. This app will have complete details of the card holder’s Ayushman balance and expenses. For this, online entry will be done from all the hospitals.

In case of trouble, ask for help on these numbers
If there is demand for money or inconvenience in the hospital for free treatment under Ayushman, then complain on NHA helpline number 14555 or SHA Madhya Pradesh helpline number 18002332085. Even if the hospital asks for extra money for any medicine or service, complain immediately.

Video of surgery will have to be sent to the doctor
Effective steps have been taken in TMS 2.0 to prevent fraud in the scheme. The doctor will have to upload the video of the surgery and live location from the OT, and also a selfie with the patient on the software. If private hospitals do not upload these documents, the surgery file will be cancelled.
